We lived in the Puna area for 20 years, and left the Big Island 10 years ago. We recently visited for two weeks. We were disappointed, because of the rush hour traffic in Hilo. What bothered us the most was the amount of homeless population on the island now days. We heard a lot of states pay for there homeless to fly one way to Hawaii.
